Cranston's Life - Rust and More Rust

This is a new installment in my series of writings that I am calling WHAT RUST MEANS TO ME.

As I continue to think about the nature of Rust and what it means to me, the next word I thought of was this: HONOR.

Why do I think that Rust exhibits HONOR?

I think that Rust is HONORABLE because it has INTEGRITY.

Rust strives to be the BEST that it can be.

Being the BEST does not mean being PERFECT, because Rust inhabits a world of limitation.

However I think it also means trying to be BETTER than it is right now, which is something I think that Rust does.

Not only does Rust improve over time, but Rust also forces me to IMPROVE myself.

I hold Rust to a high standard, and the Rust compiler holds ME to a high standard in return.

It does this by being HONEST with me, for if I have written POOR or FLAWED code then the Rust compiler will tell me!

While I do not believe that the Rust compiler is infallible, I do TRUST that it will be FAIR and JUST with my code.

Those are some reasons why I think that Rust shows HONOR.

This is the next installment in my new series of writing that I am calling WHAT RUSTS MEANS TO ME.

As I continued to think about the nature of Rust and what it means to me, the next word I thought of was this: WISDOM.

Why do I think that Rust exhibits WISDOM?

I think that Rust is WISE because it is built from the knowledge of SO MANY MINDS.

At the time I am writing this, the rust repo has over 2,600 CONTRIBUTORS!

And the cargo repo has over 570 CONTRIBUTORS!

And the book repo has over 370 CONTRIBUTORS!

And the rfcs repo has over 230 CONTRIBUTORS!

And those are just SOME of all of Rust's contributors!

Thousands of people have contributed their KNOWLEDGE and their EXPERIENCE to Rust.

Each of these Rust contributors has a UNIQUE life story with UNIQUE insights.

Rust harnesses the POWER of these contributors and their KNOW-HOW.

I believe that Rust is a FUNNEL of knowledge, combining the know-how of many contributors into one stream of WISDOM.

Those are some reasons why I think that Rust shows WISDOM.

I am starting a new series of writings that I think I will call WHAT RUST MEANS TO ME.

As I started to think about Rust and what it means to me the first word that I thought of was this: BRAVERY.

Why do I think that Rust exhibits BRAVERY?

I think that Rust is BRAVE because it takes chances in order to try to be a BETTER language.

Rust will try NEW approaches, even if there is the risk of them not working or not being accepted by programmers.

Rust pushes the BOUNDARIES of what a programming language is expected to be and what it is expected to do, even when naysayers say it cannot be done!

Rust is the kind of programming language that is ready to face any CHALLENGE that comes its way.

Those are some reasons why I think that Rust shows BRAVERY.
